Abstract: THE IMPACT OF WORK-LIFE BALANCE ON EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION
Objective: This study aims to (1) explore the relationship between work-life balance and employee motivation, (2) identify key factors influencing work-life balance, and (3) assess the impact of work-life balance initiatives on employee motivation and productivity.
Research Design: A survey design was selected to collect comprehensive data from employees regarding their work-life balance and its effects on motivation.
Sample Size: Utilizing Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 360 employees was determined, ensuring a 95% confidence level with a 5% margin of error.
Case Study: The research was conducted in the education sector, where work-life balance is critical for staff well-being and performance.
Location: Uyo, known for its educational institutions and vibrant academic community.
Reliability Coefficient Score: The survey instrument had a Cronbach's alpha score of 0.88, indicating high reliability.
Findings: The study found that work-life balance significantly impacts employee motivation. Flexible working hours, remote work options, and supportive family policies were identified as key factors enhancing work-life balance and motivation.
Recommendation: Educational institutions should implement flexible work arrangements and supportive policies to improve work-life balance and boost employee motivation and productivity.
